Halloween is here!!! Are you ready?

I hope your ready for Halloween!!  If not, then you have to shop at Dairy Farm Antiques and at 7 Gables Mercantile in Prosser WA.
I have been very busy getting both the shops ready for our big, End-of-October Sales!!  This weekend for 3 days only, we are offering 25% off at both shops!  You will find nice antique furniture, vintage clothing, glassware, jewelry, primitives, home décor and lots of beautiful things to look for.

This summer kept me very busy!

This summer I was so busy that I didn't even have time to work on my blog.  I moved to Prosser WA the second week of July so I could be closer to family, friends and my biggest passion...Antiques!

I had been driving back and fourth to Eastern WA for 7 years now so I could help my mother decorate her shop and sell antiques as well.  She has Dairy Farm Antiques in Prosser WA and it's a big shop in our historic downtown Prosser, which is very quaint and quiet. Yet, so full of life and community spirit!   It really is at the heart of downtown too, right in the main intersection and this is the start of her 14th year in Prosser at the same location.

I was so happy to move here permanently and also run another Antique business in Prosser as well.  It is actually a beautiful French style B & B that is located just outside of town in the country in Prosser.  It is called 7 Gables Pensione (B & B), Mercantile and Farm.  I got to live the country life and lived in the guest cottage on property while helping with daily farm duties, watering the massive flower beds on the beautiful grounds, running the Mercantile, and checking in guests upon arrivals at the main house.

This is a full time job, but very fun and I love it. I am able to be very creative and now I've been busy decorating 2 shops, the guest cottage at the farm, and another business in town for the holidays.  So that's why I have hardly been on the computer the past 4 month's.  Here's a look into my hobby, career, and life right now!

It all started here...when I met Debbie a few years ago and she bought this massive, gorgeous concrete birdbath from me.

So proud to be a country girl!! Here's the story of my latest Endeavor!

Here's pics and history on the barn I took down this spring, 2013. The outer walls had never been painted, and were the original barn. It was 1st built in 1887, then moved across the hwy in the 20's. It's interior was modernized in the late 1920's and converted into a house. It had lead piped water, a brick fireplace & chimney, 6 pane windows, doors, tongue in groove planks that were painted w/1930's colored milk paint. And the original linoleum floor. This is what is was... but due to weather such as high winds, rain, heat, and 93 yrs later, the poor structure was slowly being torn down by mother nature. "She" I like to call her, because she is the heart of the home and pioneer life in the Columbia River Gorge in all the 1900's. I was able to get a full 14' trailer load full of interior & exterior planked boards along with the original window frames, wooden fence boards for the animals, the old water facet knob and the original 1887 2ft wide barn boards.
After driving past her for almost 12 yrs and seeing that the roof caved in the middle when trees fell on it 20 yrs ago, I had to save what was left of her. So I did! It was a labor of love that took 2 trips and 2 months, along with finding a nest of baby birds between the 2 walls, a bat, tons of fallen tree logs and constantly being aware of possible rattlesnakes! This along with the Gorge's 50 mph winds & sun. So out of all the beautiful wood I saw potting benches made from her bones. They are strong, the wood is old growth hard wood and it is heavy. I'm so glad & proud to say that I am bringing her back to life again by recycling!

Original Barn is on the Left side

This is the wood from the interior of the house, I loved the original colors, so I kept them all original.

There wasn't any glass left, so I put chicken wire in the window panes.

All the corners are framed with the original round trim that was on the houses windows & doors.

Ready for her new home!

This is my tribute to her!  Sorry, Potting Bench is already sold.  It was a custom order for Whole Foods Market.
